Tipping is part of the engine of every cam site: it’s one of the ways models earn beyond private shows, and, used well, it’s how a viewer goes from anonymous lurker to welcome regular. This guide covers how tipping cam models works on LiveJasmin, the platform behind our live grids: Surprises, Action Requests, King of the Room, interactive toys, how much is normal, and the etiquette that gets you noticed for the right reasons.
How Surprises work
Here, tips are called Surprises: voluntary gifts of credits, the site’s currency (one credit is roughly worth 1 USD; see how credits work). You can send one in Free Chat, in a private show, in a Video Call or in a VIP Show. Each Surprise plays an animation in the room showing your name and the amount, so the model sees it instantly. A custom-text Surprise also carries your message.
You can also send an offline Surprise through Messenger at any time, even when she isn’t streaming. Check the amount before you send, because Surprises sent by mistake are “rarely refundable”. And one rule shapes the whole culture: models must never ask for Surprises, credits or money, so every Surprise really is your choice.
Action Requests: LiveJasmin’s version of a tip menu
If you’ve seen models elsewhere pin a tip menu, Action Requests are the equivalent here. In Free Chat, the model chooses which actions she offers and sets a credit price for each; you send the credits to request one, and she performs it exactly as listed. Every action falls into one of three tiers, each with a price cap:
- Light, for simple teasing or gestures: up to 10 credits.
- Regular, for moderate effort: up to 100 credits.
- Complex, for high-effort or special actions: up to 1,000 credits.
Action Requests are available in the Nude, Hot Flirt and Soul Mate female categories and in the Couple category. Free Chat rules still apply, so an Action Request is never nudity or an explicit act: those belong in private shows, VIP Shows and Video Calls.
How to read the list
Read the whole list before you send anything. The caps tell you what to expect: a Light action never costs more than 10 credits and a Regular one never more than 100, so anything priced higher is a Complex action. Within those caps, each price is the model’s own choice, which is why the same kind of action can cost different amounts in different rooms. If you have a budget for the session, map it against the list.
Why models use Action Requests
In a busy room, a clear list sets expectations, cuts repetitive questions and lets the model keep the energy flowing instead of negotiating every request. It also keeps her in control: she only lists what she’s happy to do, at the price she chooses.
Action Request mistakes to avoid
Don’t send credits and then demand something unlisted, and never pressure a model to go beyond what she offers. Above all, don’t ask for nudity in Free Chat: the rules forbid it there, “even in exchange for Tips and Surprises”. The list is her boundary as much as her price list.
Interactive toys: credits you can feel
Rooms with an interactive toy let your credits trigger a vibration in real time. Prices come from one fixed table of 12 patterns, the same in every room, and intensity rises with the price: Buzz costs 1 credit for 1 second at 10 % intensity, Stroke 10 credits for 10 seconds, Fireworks 90 credits for 90 seconds, and the top pattern, Armageddon, 1,000 credits for 120 seconds at 100 %. The model can adjust the intensity and choose which function of her toy reacts: vibration, rotation or thrust.
Toys work in Free Chat, VIP Shows, private shows and Video Calls, but in Free Chat the toy mustn’t be visible, and explicit actions are for VIP Shows, privates and Video Calls only. Toys are common: on the morning of October 14, 2026, 325 of the 435 models online had one marked active. Our guide to Lovense cam shows goes deeper into toy-controlled shows.
How much should you send?
Honest answer: whatever fits your budget, and small is genuinely fine. A useful mental model:
- Small Surprises and short toy patterns: say hello, react to a moment, buzz the toy from 1 credit. The bread and butter of every room, never embarrassing.
- Action Request amounts: whatever her list asks for a specific action, never more than the tier cap.
- Big Surprises: celebration territory, such as her birthday week, when members are notified so they can send birthday Surprises. Generous, but never expected.
The etiquette rule that matters: never send credits expecting something that isn’t offered. An Action Request buys exactly what’s listed, a Surprise buys goodwill, and neither buys control over a person.
Getting noticed for the right reasons
Regular small Surprises beat one giant one for building recognition. Models notice patterns: the viewer who greets, chats pleasantly (see our first cam chat tips) and sends something small now and then becomes a name they’re glad to see. Use a custom-text Surprise to attach a friendly message, and send during the show, for things you’re enjoying: real-time feedback is what performers feed on.
King of the Room
If you enjoy friendly competition, there’s a crown. The King of the Room is the member who spends the most credits on Surprises, toys or Action Requests while the model is online. The title lasts 24 hours, or until someone outspends its holder, and it’s shown in the room. VIP Shows have their own version: the member who spends the most becomes “the VIP”, visible to everyone. Both are fun, neither is required to be welcome, and chasing a crown you can’t afford is the opposite of smart tipping.
Surprises vs going private
They’re complementary, not competing. Surprises and Action Requests keep you in the social, public experience of Free Chat; a private show is a paid, per-minute session where explicit content is allowed, and Surprises still work there. Just don’t assume a private is always one-on-one: unless it’s an exclusive private, other members can join, and members can take a 25-second Sneak Peek. There’s no correct ratio; follow what you enjoy.
Tipping FAQ
Do I have to send Surprises in Free Chat? No. Anyone can watch Free Chat, and models must never ask for Surprises. Watching for free is fully legitimate.
What’s the smallest acceptable amount? Small amounts are normal and appreciated: a Buzz toy pattern costs 1 credit, and a Light Action Request at most 10.
Can I send a Surprise anonymously? Not in the room: every Surprise plays an animation showing the sender’s name and the amount. Pick a username you’re comfortable seeing on screen.
Can I send a Surprise when she’s offline? Yes, through Messenger, at any time.
Can I request something that isn’t on the list? You can ask politely, but the model decides, just as she sets her own prices within the caps. Anything explicit belongs in a private show, a VIP Show or a Video Call, never in Free Chat.
Are there tip goals or room goals? Not in Free Chat. The only crowd goal for a show is a VIP Show’s credit goal: members contribute during a countdown of 1 to 5 minutes, and the show starts when the goal is reached and the timer ends. Our group show guide explains how to join.
Ready to try it? Pick a busy room (the couples grid is a good place to start, since Action Requests are available in the Couple category), watch how Surprises and Action Requests play out for a few minutes, and start small. You’ll get the rhythm quickly.
